New Babies

It’s that time again! There are two new baby sheep at Davis Farmland. These sheep are Horned Dorset twins – one boy and one girl! They were born on June 13 to Mrs. Fluffylady and father, Pretty Boy.
There are few breeds of sheep that can breed all year round and the Horned Dorset is one of them. The females, called ewes, are good mothers and milkers, which help the lambs to grow rapidly. Multiple births are not uncommon for this breed; as was evident when Mrs. Fluffylady had twins! These sheep are an endangered species with less than 10,000 in existence and are now on the American Rare Breeds Conservancy's Conservation Priority Watchlist.
Horned Dorset sheep are extremely hardy animals and make a great addition to the farm! These two twins are strong and healthy but they still need names! To submit your favorite choice, go to https://www.davisfarmland.com/farmland/contest.html. The winner will receive a season pass good for up to four people.
